Vincent, I am enjoying reading your Bald Knobbers book I received this week from cousins Janet and Neal Wheeler of Mtn Home, which you kindly signed for me. I was unaware of the difficult times of the 1880s in that area west of Ozark County. My great grandfather John Clinton Barrett moved to Gainesville in '85 from east Tenn. and was involved in shooting scrapes and quarrels that led to the death of Pleas Duckworth in Nov. 1891 in Gainesville following a shootout in the courthouse. I better understand the times in which Barrett lived now, with the reading of your book. Thanks for your research, Ron Pyron Maryville, TN ronpyron@gmail.com
Vincent,
My Great Great Grandfather was Robert Martin Hancock, his parents were William A. and Elizabeth Hancock. Your site indicates that there is a headstone at the Talbert/Casey Cemetery I have been unable to locate the headstone.... is there possibly a photo that exists? How can I get documentation as to the grave site location?
Thanks,
